Job Openings Held Steady in March

Washington, DC, May 9, 2017-The number of job openings was little changed at 5.7 million on the last business day of March, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported.

Over the month, hires and separations were also little changed at 5.3 million and 5.1 million, respectively. Within separations, the quits and the layoffs and discharges rates were unchanged at 2.1% and 1.1%, respectively.
