Plano, TX, November 4–J.C. Penney said on Thursday its October sales at department stores open at least a year rose 2.1 percent and raised its quarterly profit forecast.
The company said it now expects earnings from continuing operations of 47 cents to 49 cents a share in the fiscal third quarter ended Oct. 30.
