Washington, DC, October 15, 2007–About 2,900 “Alyssa” shag rugs, manufactured in India and imported by J.C. Penney Co., were recalled because the rugs fail to meet federal standards for flammability and could ignite, posing a risk of burn injuries to consumers.
No injuries or incidents have been reported.
The rugs were sold in the J.C. Penney catalog and website from June through August 2007.
