Chicago PMI Stronger Than Anticipated


Chicago, IL, April 30, 2010–The Chicago Purchasing Managers Index rose to 63.8 in April from 58.8, a stronger than expected performance.

New orders rose to 65.2 from 61.8, prices paid rose to 71.4 from 66.6, and employment rose to 57.2 from 53.1.

The index is at its highest level in five years.
