New York, NY, May 5, 2011 — Retailers reported April sales growth that outpaced analysts’ estimates, although there were a few signs that consumers are facing increasing pressure from gas prices.
On average retail sales rose 8.9%, outpacing an average analyst estimate of 8.2%, according to Thomson Reuters.
This shows the momentum in consumer spending is continuing.
