Americans’ Wealth Takes a Hit in Summer


Washington, DC, Dec. 9, 2011 — Americans lost more wealth last summer in more than two years on declining stock, pension fund and home values, according to a Federal Reserve report.

Household net worth fell 4% to $57.4 trillion in the July-September quarter, the report said.

It was the largest decline since September 2008.
