Consumer Inflation Remains Tame in December

Washington, DC, Jan. 19, 2012 — Consumer prices were unchanged in December, the Labor Department said Thursday.

So-called core prices, which strip out food and energy costs, rose a seasonally adjusted 0.1%.

The core rate has risen 2.2% over the past 12 months.
