March Retail Sales Better Than Expected

Washington, DC, April 5, 2012 —  Retailers nearly across the board reported better-than-anticipated sales in March, an indication that Americans are feeling better about the economy.

Retailers from Target to Macy’s reported improving sales. A combination of warm weather and high demand for spring fashions boosted sales for the month.

Improving employment and higher consumer confidence are helping retailers, experts said.
