Consumer Sentiment Hits Four-Year High

Ann Arbor, MI, May 11, 2012 — Consumer sentiment rose to a four-year high in May on falling gasoline prices, according to the Thomson Reuters/University of Michigan survey.

Consumer sentiment climbed to 77.8, the highest since January 2008, from 76.4 the prior month.

The index was projected to drop to 76, according to economists.
