Mid-Atlantic Manufacturing Contracts in July

Philadelphia, PA, July 19, 2012 — Manufacturing activity in the mid-Atlantic area contracted in July but at a slower pace than in June, according to the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia.

The bank said that its index of manufacturing activity moved to -12.9 in July from -16.6 in June.

Readings below zero indicate contraction.
