Autos Hold Back Overall Retail Sales

Washington, DC, Oct. 29, 2013 — Retail sales in the U.S. excluding autos climbed 0.4% in September, according to the Commerce Department.

However, total sales dropped 0.1%, held back by the biggest decrease at auto dealers since October 2012.
