
Washington, DC, March 6, 2014 — Factory orders fell in January for a second straight month, according to the Commerce Department.
Factory orders dipped 0.7% in January following an even bigger 2% decrease in December.
Orders for core capital goods, a proxy for business investment, rose 1.5% in January, recovering after a 1.6% drop in December.
Orders for durable goods were down 1% while non-durable goods orders slipped 0.4%.
