Washington, DC, July 16, 2015—The National Federation of Independent Business’s Small Business Optimism Index dropped 4.2 points to 94.1 in June, the lowest reading since March 2014, after reaching a five-month high in May.
This is the biggest decline that the index has seen since 2012.
Analysts believe that the drop in optimism is a result of declining expectations about earnings as well as poor sales in recent months.
