
Lancaster, PA, Feb. 9, 2010–In addition to previous reports of layoffs in Tennessee, Armstrong is also cutting hardwood production in Center, Texas.
According to McClatchy News, 180 workers will lose their jobs in Texas, plant, effective April 9.
Armstrong called the moves a “last resort.”
The company said demand for residential hardwood flooring continues to slide, both in the new construction and the repair/remodel markets.
That’s left Armstrong with too much capacity.
