Armstrong Names New General Counsel

Lancaster, PA, Aug. 1, 2008–Armstrong World Industries, Inc.has appointed Jeffrey D. Nickel as senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary.

Nickel, 45, most recently was the company’s deputy general counsel for business and commercial law. He joined Armstrong in 2001 as group counsel for Armstrong’s global flooring business from Dow Corning Corp. where he was a senior attorney. Before that, he was an associate with the Michigan law firm of Varnum Riddering Schmidt & Howlett LLP.

He succeeds John N. Rigas, who retired.
