BASF to Increase Prices on Carboxylated Styrene-Bu

Charlotte, NC, September 27, 2005 — Effective October 15, 2005, or as contracts allow, BASF will raise prices in the United States and Canada on all carboxylated styrene-butadiene latex products supplied to the adhesives, architectural coatings, carpet, construction and nonwovens industries by $0.04 per dry pound.

This price increase is the result of significant increases in raw material and energy costs. It pertains to products sold under the Butofan, Styrofan and Styronal brands.
