Charlotte, NC, Apr. 11–Effective May 1, or as contracts allow, BASF will raise prices in the U.S. and Canada on all Styrofan carboxylated styrene-butadiene emulsion polymers supplied to the carpet industry by $0.03 per dry pound.
In addition, the company will increase prices for all high solids Butonal styrene-butadiene products sold to the construction and carpet industries by $0.02 per dry pound. This is also effective May 1, or as contracts allow.
Both increases are due to escalating raw material costs.
