British Carpet Museum To Get Lottery Funds

Kidderminster, England, Sept. 28, 2010–A planned carpet industry museum will receive lottery funding to help set it up.

Carpet Museum Trust has been provided with a $2.7 million fund to establish the center in Stour vale Mill, which was built in 1855 and was originally itself a carpet factory, the BBC reports.

A vintage working loom from the Victorian period will be one of the features of the museum, which will focus on Kidderminster’s role in Britain’s carpet-making industry.
