Builder Beazer Reports Fourth Quarter Loss

Atlanta, GA, Nov. 5, 2010 — Beazer Homes USA reported a fourth quarter net loss of $59.5 million, compared to net income of $33.8 million a year ago.

The loss from continuing operations was $0.78 per share.

Home closings fell 30% to 1,189, while new orders fell 20% to 810 homes.

For the full year, Beazer posted a loss of $34 million, or $0.57 per share, on revenue of $1 billion. That’s down from a loss of $189.4 million, or $4.90 per share, on revenue of $971.7 million last year.

Beazer is one of the top 10 largest builders in the country.
