Builder Horton Acquiring Atlanta’s Crown Communities

Atlanta, GA, May 7, 2014 — Builder D.R. Horton is acquiring Atlanta’s largest home builder, Crown Communities, according to a report by Builder magazine.

Horton, based in Ft. Worth, Texas, is the nation’s largest homebuilder.

At the end of the first quarter, Crown had 6.7% of all new home closings in metro Atlanta, while D.R. Horton had 5.9% market share.
