
Washington, DC, July 24, 2019–According to the most recent U.S. import statistics showing data from January to May, Chinese tile imports were down 24.2% in units–the largest drop of any country on the list.
Total imports from all foreign countries were down 3.6%. Italy was down 12.1% and Turkey was down 5.8%. Countries that experienced import growth were Brazil (+48.4%), Spain (+5.9) and Mexico (+4.7).
Despite this decline on a year over year basis, China is still the number one importer of ceramic tile into the U.S. from a unit perspective, followed by Mexico, Spain and Italy.
