Consumer Prices Remain Tame in July

Washington, DC, Aug. 19, 2014 — Consumer prices rose in July at the slowest rate in five months, according to the Labor Department.

The consumer price index increased 0.1% after rising 0.3% in June.

Stripping out volatile food and fuel, “core inflation” also climbed 0.1%.
