Consumer Sentiment Near Six-Year High

Ann Arbor, MI, May 31, 2013 — Consumer sentiment rose to the highest level in almost six years in May, according to the Thomson Reuters/University of Michigan index.

Sentiment increased to 84.5 in May, the strongest since July 2007, from 76.4 in April. Economists expected a preliminary reading of 83.7.
