Consumer Sentiment Rises in May

Ann Arbor, MI, May 13, 2011 — The University of Michigan-Thomson Reuters preliminary consumer sentiment index rose to 72.4 from a reading of 69.8 in April.

Economists expected a 71.0 reading. The index hasn’t been above 100 since January of 2004.
