Washington, DC, Dec. 13, 2011 — Consumers increased their spending at a slower rate in November, according to the Commerce Department.
Sales at U.S. retailers increased a seasonally adjusted 0.2% in November. Excluding the volatile automobile sector, sales also rose 0.2%.
Economists expected retail sales to rise by 0.5% overall.
