Washington, DC, Oct. 14, 2010–U.S. wholesale prices rose 0.4% in September, due largely to higher meat and natural gas costs, the government reported Thursday.
Core producer prices, which exclude the volatile food and energy categories, rose 0.1%.
Economists had forecast a 0.1% increase in both the overall and core producer price indexes. Both numbers are seasonally adjusted.
