Durable Goods Orders Decline on Transportation

Washington, DC, Sept. 27, 2012 — Durable goods orders fell 13.2% in August due mostly to significantly lower orders for cars and airplanes, according to the Commerce Department.

Economists had expected durable-goods orders to sink a seasonally adjusted 5.3% in August.
