Factory Orders Surge in February

Washington, DC, April 2, 2013 — Factory orders rose sharply in February, according to the Commerce Department.

The government said orders for manufactured goods increased 3.0%, boosted by the aircraft industry.

Orders excluding transportation equipment increased just 0.3%.
