Industrial Production Declines in August

Washington, DC, Sept. 14, 2012 — Industrial production in the U.S. fell in August by the most since March 2009, according to the Federal Reserve.

Production fell 1.2% at factories, mines and utilities after a revised 0.5% gain in July.

Slowing global economies are keeping businesses from placing more orders.
