
Washington, DC, Jan. 2, 2014 — Initial applications for unemployment benefits declined last week to the lowest level in a month, according to the Labor Department.
Jobless claims fell by 2,000 to 339,000 in the period ended Dec. 28.
The four-week moving average for new claims rose 8,500 to 357,250.
