Initial Jobless Claims Fall in Latest Week

Washington, DC, Dec. 26, 2013 — Initial claims for unemployment benefits fell more than expected last week, according to the Labor Department.

Jobless claims declined by 42,000 to 338,000 in the week ended Dec. 21.

However, the holidays make it difficult to adjust for fluctations, the department said.
