Initial Jobless Claims Fall Sharply

Washington, DC, July 18, 2013 — Initial claims for unemployment benefits fell last week to their lowest level in four months, according to the Labor Department.

Initial claims fell by 24,000 to a seasonally adjusted 334,000. It was the lowest reading since March and a steeper fall than expected.
