Iran Exports $207M in Carpets Over Five Months

Tehran, Iran, Sept. 13, 2010–Iran’s handmade carpet exports in the five months since March totaled $207 million, according to the Mehr News Agency.

The story indicated the figure represents a 49.51 percent value increase and 49.37 percent rise in terms of volume in comparison to the same period of last year.

The director of Iran National Carpet Center, Faisal Mardasi, said he hopes that the value of handmade carpets exports will reach $500 million.
