Job Openings Rise in September

Washington, DC, Nov. 9, 2011 — The Labor Department said there were 3.4 million job openings posted at the end of September, up from 3.1 million in August.

That’s a 38% increase since the recession ended in June 2009, the Labor Department said.

Postings are up 7% from August.

The Job Openings and Labor Turnover Statistics report, said 4.2 million people were hired in September, up from 3.6 million in October 2009.
