
Washington, DC, March 27, 2014 — Initial applications for unemployment benefits fell last week to the lowest level in four months, according to the Labor Department.
Initial claims fell by 10,000 to a seasonally adjusted 311,000 in the seven days ended March 22.
The average of new claims over the past month declined by 9,500 to 317,750, the lowest level since September.
