Dalton, GA, April 20, 2010–Higher raw materials costs are forcing Mohawk Industries to raise carpet prices 5% to 7%, with a minimum price increase of $0.27 per square yard on base grades, effective with orders on May 10 and shipments on May 24.
The company cited the continuing rise in polypropylene and latex costs, which are likely to continue their climb. Other categories including nylon, polyester and triexta are following the same trend.
