Mohawk to Close Tennessee Ceramic Plant


Washington, DC, November 7, 2006–Mohawk Industries said in its quarterly report filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission Monday that it will close its Jackson, Tennessee mosaic tile plant, incurring a $4 million charge in the process.

The report said that severance and other closure charges account for $1.3 million of the total charge, and the remaining $2.7 million is a non-cash asset impairment charge.

The company said it expects it will incur another $2 million related to separate restructuring activities in its Dal-Tile segment.
