New Jobless Claims at Three Month Low

Washington, DC, March 13, 2014 — Initial claims for unemployment benefits unexpectedly fell to a three-month low last week, according to the Labor Department.

Initial claims dropped 9,000 to a seasonally adjusted 315,000, the lowest reading since late November.

Economists had forecast applications would rise to 330,000 last week.
