New York Manufacturing Expansion Slows

New York, NY, Feb. 17, 2015 — The New York Federal Reserve’s manufacturing index showed that conditions improved at slower rate in February.

The group’s general business conditions index decreased to 7.8 this month from a reading of 10.0 in January.

Economists had expected the index to decline to 8.5 in February.

The new orders index fell five points to 1.2, while the shipments index climbed to 14.1.

A reading above 0.0 indicates improving conditions.
