Oriental Weavers Records Higher Net Income

Cairo, Egypt, Aug. 13, 2009–Oriental Weavers posted first half net income after minority interest of 162.7 million Egyptian pounds ($29.3 million), the firm said on Thursday, compared to 154.3 million pounds ($27.8 million) a year ago.

The firm, the world’s biggest machine-woven carpet producer, said its net sales were 1.676 billion pounds in the half, compared to 1.596 billion pounds in the comparable period.
