Producer Prices Tumble on Lower Energy Costs

Washington, DC, Feb. 18, 2015 — Producer prices declined 0.8% in January largely due to falling energy prices, according to the Labor Department.

The producer price index also fell 0.1% excluding the volatile food and energy categories.

Economists had expected prices would fall 0.4% and so-called core prices would rise 0.1%.
