
Tempe, AZ, Oct. 5, 2011 — U.S. service industries expanded more slowly in September, according to the Institute for Supply Management.
ISM’s non-manufacturing index fell to 53 from 53.3 in August. The median forecast of 75 economists was for a drop to 52.8.
A reading above 50 indicates expansion.
