StarNet Announces Design Award Winners


Ridgefield, CT, June 2, 2006–StarNet Commercial Flooring Cooperative announced its eighth Annual Design Award recipients at its recent annual meeting in Bal Harbour, Florida.

The Design Awards Grand Prize was given to StarNet member AIC Contracting, Inc., headquartered in Hamilton, Ohio, and known for years of experience in all phases of flooring projects, as well as a constant awareness of new materials, equipment and products.

The winning project was Cincinnati Mills in Cincinnati with architects and designers from FRCH Design Worldwide. Flooring materials included those from Armstrong, Daltile, Johnsonite, Lees, Mannington Carpet and Roppe. The project also co-won in its individual category of hospitality/public space.

The competition evaluates creative use of floor covering, flooring design concept and how well designs meet client objectives, and special challenges. Winners are chosen in six categories, with one grand-prize winner acknowledged: large corporate, education, small corporate, healthcare, hospitality/public space and unique installations.
