UK Vinyl Firm Halstead Sees Profits Rise


Manchester, England, April 1, 2010–Vinyl flooring maker James Halstead reported first-half profit of $17.8 million, compared to $16.3 million last year.

Revenue grew to $140.2 million from 131.9 million a year ago.

The company increased its dividend increased by 10.3 percent as a result of the improvement.

The company said that its success was due to a 13.5 percent jump in overseas business.

It also said that its future plans will involve decreasing its dependence on UK manufacturing.
