Unemployment Applications Tick Up Last Week

Washington, DC, Oct. 30, 2014 — Initial applications for unemployment benefits last week edged higher by 3,000 to a seasonally adjusted total of 287,000.

Continuing jobless claims in the week ended October 18 rose to 2.384 million from 2.355 million in the preceding week.
