Wholesale Inventories Increase in November

Washington, DC, Jan. 9, 2015 — U.S. wholesale inventories recorded their largest increase in seven months in November, according to the Commerce Department.

Also, October’s numbers were revised higher.

The government said wholesale inventories rose 0.8%, ahead of economists’ expectations for a 0.3% increase.

Stocks increased in electrical goods, machinery, hardware, metals and professional equipment. Auto inventories rose 0.6%.

Wholesale sales fell 0.3% in November after being flat the prior month.
